What to Donate
Donation Do's
- Wash or dry-clean clothing.
- Test electrical equipment and battery-operated items.
- Include all pieces and parts to children's games and toys.
- Check with your local Goodwill Industries to determine standards for donating computers and used vehicles.
Donation Don'ts
We are unable to accept the following items due to safety concerns, government regulations and the high cost of disposal:
- Furniture* - see Furniture Donations for more information about furniture drop off locations
- Vehicles and Boats
- Computers
- Cell Phones
- Cribs with slats more than 2-3/8 inches apart; or with mattresses that don't fit snugly.
- Children's clothing with drawstrings around the hood or neck.
- Air dryers without the large rectangular-shaped safety plug.
- Halogen torchiere floor lamps without glass or wire guards over the bulb shield; or without a 300-watt or less bulb.
- Playpens with protruding hardware or rotating top rails that don't properly lock into place.
- Car seat carriers with defective handle locks.
- Bunk beds with a 3 ½-inch space or more between the bed frame and guardrail, or between the bed frame and the top bunk's headboard or footboards; or without guardrails on both sides of the top bunk.
- Toy basketball nets.
- Accordion-style safety gates.
- Bean bag chairs.
- Paint, cleaning supplies or other hazardous materials.
- Mattresses, box springs and bed pillows.
- Plumbing supplies.
- Tires.
- Any items that have been recalled, banned, or do not meet current Consumer Product Safety Commission standards. Dispose of those items immediately.
