Store Policies
We Gladly Accept:
Sales Policy & Distribution of Free Donations Goodwill's mission is to help people with disabilities and special needs with barriers to employment so they can become employed and self-supporting citizens. About 100 years ago, Goodwill Industries created a new system in America, to solicit and process donated goods to be sold in thrift stores. It served to provide rehabilitation, training and employment for people, and revenues to support the mission. A system that remains durable and is intact today throughout the United States.
Goodwill teaches people to support themselves through work. Giving individuals a hand up, not a hand down. Not charity, but a chance. We do not give merchandise away as charity, welfare or special assistance to individuals. There are other organizations created with this mission. All merchandise is to be sold to support the stated mission of Goodwill Industries.
Donated merchandise is to be sold for the highest possible price that the law of supply and demand will permit. We have a responsibility to support our mission, and also to our donors to acquire the best possible price to maximize the impact of their generosity.
We thank you for your continued patronage and your contribution in helping people with disabilities and special needs lead lives with dignity.
